SIMPLE YELLOW SMOOTHIE

photo 1-1This smoothie is a perfect pick me up, jammed packed with vitamin c, it is ideal for boosting your immune system. When it’s cold and miserable outside, this is a great way to keep your insides happy and healthy – and it tastes great too. This recipe makes enough for one portion blended in the Breville Blend Active.

You will need:

Half a mango (cut into chunks)

5/6 cubes of pineapple

1/2 orange

1/2 banana

1/2 cup of orange juice

1/2 cup of almond milk

I found these pineapple chunks at Sainsburys on offer – meaning you don’t need to buy a whole pineapple and worry about waste. And remember, you can always freeze fruit! It is so easy to pop into your blender the next day straight from the freezer.

Pop all the sliced fruit in your bottle, then pour in the orange juice and almond milk, you may need a little more or less of the liquid ingredients depending on how thick you like your smoothie.

photo 2-2Screw on the blender lid and twist into place upside down on your blender base. Blend on and off for about 30 seconds and you will find it turns a refreshing, summery yellow colour.

This is the perfect morning smoothie with all the vitamins you need to start your day. The best thing about smoothies is you can create a delicious drink with a very simple recipe like this one and if you want to, jazz it up by adding supplements… I love to add in milled chia seeds, maca powder and coconut water – all of which have great health benefits.
