3 Staple Smoothies

Smoothies are a fantastic way of sneaking in your five a day, as well as masking fruits and veg that you may not particularly like in the first place. I also love adding additional supplements and superfoods into my smoothies to boost the benefits.

The best thing about smoothies and juices is that while they are super easy to make, you can also amend the ingredients and quantities to suit your liking. I like to have these in the morning, perhaps alongside a bowl of granola, guilt free and the perfect way to start the day.

Here are the basic recipes I use for making green, yellow and purple smoothies! All delicious and packed full of goodness.

The healthiest of the bunch, for obvious reasons! The best way to get all your greens. I love the clean, detoxing feel of this smoothie.

  • Kale Or Spinach (1 handful)
  • Apple x1
  • Kiwi Or Pear x1
  • Banana x1
  • Pineapple (a few chunks)
  • Almond milk (1 cup)
  • Ice

The passion fruit makes this smoothie zingy and refreshing. Mango creates a beautiful smooth texture too. This might have to be my favourite of the three!

  • Mango x1
  • Pineapple (a few chunks)
  • Banana x1
  • Passion Fruit x1
  • Coconut Water (1 cup)
  • Ice

Cooling and fruity, the berries create a lovely texture and are so refreshing in this smoothie.

  • Raspberries, Strawberries, Blueberries Or Blackberries (1 handful of each. I tend to use a mix. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have them all!)
  • Banana x1
  • Kale Or Spinach (1 handful)
  • Natural Yoghurt (1 tablespoon)
  • Ice

It is as simple as throwing these ingredients into your blender and you are good to go!

You can always freeze the fruit in portions, to grab straight from the freezer – making the process even quicker.

Remember you can mix and match ingredients, these are just the core fruits I use to create each colour smoothie. So have a play around to find your favourites.

I hope you like this post and I that have inspired you to get creative with the contents of your fruit bowl! Enjoy!
