I hope you had a great Christmas spent with your family and friends, and that you are now putting your feet up and enjoying Boxing Day!
Just before the Christmas break, I headed down to London for the weekend and of course, we wanted to explore the gluten free options. I found that Camden Market was a hub for gluten free food, which made it so easy to eat without having to worry!
Here are a couple of our favourite places:
This place was amazing! Not only could everything on the menu be adapted for a gluten free diet, but the burgers had delicious gluten free buns and gluten free beer was available. To add to that, they even served gluten free onion rings!! The waiter informed me that they used polenta flour and the gluten free beer to form the batter.
The staff were very helpful and informative, which always makes you feel more comfortable when eating out.
Honest Burger is a chain of restaurants all over London, but from my experience at the Camden location, it was a small and rustic setting, serving excellent food at a great price. We would really recommend if you weren’t looking for somewhere fancy, but just after a delicious burger – it really hits the spot!!
COOKIES AND SCREAM
Located right next door to Honest Burger, was a quaint little cake stall/cookie bar called Cookies and Scream, which was entirely gluten free!
They served coffees, cookies, brownies and cakes of all varieties, which catered to a gluten free and vegan diet.
I went for the apple, raisin and cinnamon cake. It was delicious! Served warm, it was so moist and reminded me of cinnamon rolls we used to eat before we were gluten free! (My favourite as a kid, so it was so exciting to find something just as tasty as the real deal).
I also took some of the Oatmeal Hombres to go, which had a soft gooey texture and would have been gorgeous hot or cold.
So these are definitely my top two picks in Camden, for both the sweet and savoury palette! They really are right next door to each other (see below!), so I would highly recommend you give both these places a visit if you get the chance!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 🙂
