When posed with the question: ‘what has your mum taught you?’ I thought to myself well the real question is what HASN’T she taught me? The lessons my mum gave me get me through every day life and she will forever be number 1 role model. This is why I think Mothers Day is such an important day to celebrate. Time to give back and appreciate all the strong, inspirational, hard working mothers out there!
My mum would go above and beyond in everything she did for myself and my sister. She is kind, selfless and by far the most creative person I have ever met. We had the BEST kids parties, from fancy dress, teddy bears picnics and treasure hunts. She was the master. It didn’t stop there, she created costumes from scratch, from red indians and peter pan to any animal you can think of and being as arty as she was, mum of course was the queen of the face paint station.
Cooking and baking is a passion of ours. Mum makes the most incredible salsa! Her chutney she makes for Christmas is also to die for. Her natural culinary abilities have always inspired me, which is why I have such a burning passion for it now! When my sister and I were diagnosed with coeliac disease meaning we had to eat gluten free, she relished the challenge. She totally embraced it and cooked and ate gluten free meals with us every night.
For this post, I teamed up with Getting Personal who have launched an exclusive #MadeByMum collection with gifts specially made for mum. These gifts are thoughtful, fun and of course fully personalised! You can view the collection HERE and take a look at their campaign video above!
